Story
In August 2013 while I was on a surfing holiday my best friend Neville Pells suddenly suffered from a brain haemorrhage and died. He was airlifted to Derriford Hospital in Plymouth where he was treated in the Pencarrow Ward Intensive Care Unit. The care he received over the 4 days was fantastic, the doctors and nurses did everything they could for him but sadly the haemorrhage was just to big.
In May we are taking the Three Peaks Challenge which Nev planned on doing. Having just missed out a few years ago when he first did it, he was planning on finishing well under the target of 24hrs. Knowing how competitive he got with me while playing sport I don't have a doubt in my mind that Nev would of completed the walk and comfortably beaten his target.
We've set ourselves a target of £11,000 for the ICU at Derriford Hospital which is the cost of a vital bit of equipment that we believe made his time in hospital a bit more comfortable. With this the hospital can continue to deliver excellent care and support for other patients and their families who go through a similar ordeal.
