We started Cycling for the Doncaster Bikeathon back in 1997 and managed to Raise substantial amounts of money for Leukaemia Research by doing so, and having some memorable times along the way.  Incredibly my Brother Tig was Diasgnosed with a form of Leukaemia and also Non Hodgkins Lymphoma, which took him from us very quickly in May 2007.  The Staff on then Ward 27 Doncaster Royal Infirmary were so helpful and supportive, and after Tig passed away we came together as Family and Friends and created the Tigathon, which has raised almost £23,000.00 in the intervening years.  The money has helped make the time Patients spend on the Ward as comfortable as possible, and the single Wards have given Families the privacy they need at this difficult time.  We would like to continue this support for the Staff of Ward 18, which is the new home for the Nurses that gave us their support when we most needed it.
