Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.  The Barking and Dagenham Walk a Mile in Her Shoes event is part of an unprecedented 16-days of activism, saying NO to domestic violence in our borough. We are fund raising for the work of Hestia in Barking and Dagenham, while participating in the national White Ribbon Campaign.

Led by Council Leader Councillor Darren Rodwell, men who live and/or work in Barking and Dagenham will be walking a mile in women's shoes as part of the international men's march to stop rape, sexual assault and gender violence. This event is an opportunity for us to raise awareness in our community about the causes and effects of, and solutions to, sexualised violence.

Councillor Rodwell: "I urge everyone to donate here to support this action, and to help fund the excellent services of Hestia, providing refuge in Barking and Dagenham for survivors of domestic violence.

"We pledge never to commit, condone or remain silent about violence against women."
