Story
My reason for setting up this page is because this beautiful little girl Lyla holds a very special place in my heart. I spent a year over in London and for 9 months of that I was nannying for two wonderful children Lyla and her little brother Zeyd. Lyla was just 2 years old when I first began looking after her, she had the biggest personaltiy that I had ever seen in a girl her age, she had the most unique and beautiful face with the most wild hair. She was one of a kind and definitely knew how to keep me on my toes! I truely fell in love with her. I was so lucky to have found such a great family to work for and I enjoyed watching how much Lyla and Zeyd were adored by their parents.
On August 13th 2011, Lyla was diagnosed with Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma (DIPG), an untreatable, incurable, inoperable, agressive brain cancer. She was expected to only live months and sadly passed away on January 24, 2012.
To have experienced first hand what some families have to go through is truely heart breaking. It may be hard to understand if you haven't experienced this yourself but a huge reason people should donate towards this foundation is because your money will be going towards finding a cure for children's brain cancer. No one ever expects to go through anything like this and if we are to have any chance of stopping it we all need to donate whatever we can.
Lyla's parents have set up this foundation to dedicate their time to try and prevent this disease from destroying children's lives (and their families) so violently, and to try and improve the prognosis for these children and eventually find a cure. So please support them in any way you can.
Thank you for taking the time to look at this page and any donation small or large will be greatly appreciated.
