Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
In November last year after finishing work I began to feel unwell and subsequently collapsed at home. I was admitted to hospital and diagnosed with Infectious Encephalitis and SAH which is a inflammation and swelling of the brain. I spent weeks in hospital, some of which I was unconscious. I was left with left side paralysis, aphasia (inability to speak properly) and poor coordination. I am very lucky to be here today. However it has left me with memory problems, tiredness, personality change and general slowness!!
My neurosurgeon and GP put me in touch with Headway Salisbury and South Wiltshire and they have been a godsend!! I attend once a week and the staff and volunteers help me and others with ABI. They tailor stuff to everyone's needs, I am able to do exercises that help the parts of my brain that were affected. I'm doing this walk to raise some funds so these groups can keep going as they help so many people. Please give what you can.
