Welcome to the Green Room JustGiving page.  This year we will be raising money for SPoCC (Society of Parents of Children with Cancer) who are based out of Birmingham Children's Hospital.

A little bit about SPoCC....

The charity was formed in 1985 by members of the medical staff at the hospital and a small group of parents (some who had a child with a cancer, others who had lost a child because of it).  They decided to join together to support each other and to help families of newly diagnosed children.  

The necessary chemotherapy and radiotherapy treatments often make the children very sick and the side effects can be extremely debilitating. During this time families find themselves under enormous strain, physically and emotionally,  and SPoCC endeavour to help them in a variety of ways throughout what is probably the most traumatic time of their lives.

Any funds raised by the charity are used to support the families and offer respite by organising family trips and sometimes a final family holiday, offering a minibus service to help parents with transport issues getting the children to and from hospital (which can at times be a daily trip), running a kiosk at the hospital serving refreshments, and providing emotional support in the hospital for parents.

Throughout 2016 we would like to raise as much money as possible for this extremely worthy cause and thank you all in advance for any donations you are able to make.
