Story

Hello my name is Karen; I am 33 and have a medical condition called PCOS. (Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome)

PCOS has several symptoms which I suffer from. One of the most embarrassing symptoms to affect me is excess hair. I suffer with this on my face and body. This symptom is not usually noticeable as I mange it daily through shaving.

I have decided to grow all my excess face and body hair for the month of August. I will write a daily blog about the experiences I encounter. http://hairyfairyweymouth.com/

PCOS affects 1in 10 women, a very common condition. Some of the symptoms are quite embarrassing and I want to share my experience of living with PCOS so other women know they are not alone. I also aim to raise awareness of the national charity Verity and raise much needed funds to enable Verity to continue supporting women living with PCOS.

Every £1 of sponsorship will help me achieve my goal. All support is gratefully valued and appreciated. If you would like to know more about PCOS or the charity Verity please feel free to approach me and I will happily stop for a conversation or message me at kfiggitt@hotmail.com
