For a while we've been thinking about how we can make a real difference. Yes we love eating food and writing about it but what about those people who are less fortunate than ourselves and don't have the access to the most basic of human requirements from clean water and food to shelter and medical care.

Alhamdulillah since we set up the Halal Food Review website in 2010 we have built up a loyal and growing readership. Today we are asking our readers for their help to make a real difference to those who need it most.

We're asking members of our community to make a contribution however small to our fundraising efforts.

It could be a couple of pounds, it could be the equivalent of a tip you left at a restaurant or it could even be the equivalent of the price you paid for your last meal out. Whatever amount you can donate no matter how small can help make a hugh difference.

The first charity we are proposing to fundraise for is ISRA UK - FEED THE POOR which is based in Birmingham. Inshallah your donations will help supportboth their Water Aid and Iftaari Food Parcel Programmes.

Inshallah if this pilot fundraiser is a success we plan on raising funds for other charities in the coming months. Our priority is to support both Muslim and Non Muslim charities.
