We grant magical wishes to seriously ill children

Story

**UPDATE** On 19/08/12 I completed my challenge in 4 hours 38 minutes. Rowing through conditions varying from sunshine, fog, force 3 winds with swell of up to 5' and finally sunshine again as I reached the coast, I made it with only one capsize. Thank you for all your support.**

In August 2012 I will be attempting to become the youngest person to row the English Channel solo in aid of the Make a Wish Foundation UK. The charity grants wishes of children and young people aged between 3 and 17 living with life threatening illnesses.

My brother Ollie was granted a wish when he had Acute Myeloid Leukaemia and the thought of his wish kept him going during his five and a half months in hospital. Thankfully he is still with us but I know personally of two other children who have had wishes, one of whom had cancer and is no longer with us and one who is very disabled and will always have her life threatening disability.

We grant magical wishes to children and young people fighting life-threatening conditions. When a child is diagnosed with a life-threatening condition, it has a huge impact on them and their whole family. A wish provides them with precious memories to treasure forever – whatever the future may hold.
