Story
Our names are George & Michael and we are organising a charity event for Dementia & Cancer at Hornchurch Cricket club on Sunday 30th of August 2015. We are hoping to raise a minimum of £700 for our chosen charities. As we have both had members of our family affected by these diseases.
The two charity's chosen are Cancer Research Uk & tapestry care
George Clark
“My mum fought Cancer 5 times and won 5 out of 5 Battles (Hodgkin’s Disease 4 & Breast 1). Yes it has been hard, but she is my role model and my rock. Her last battle was with Breast cancer just over 4 Years ago and to this day it is something I am proud of my mum for overcoming. 16 years ago I lost my Granddad to Non- Hodgkin’s Disease and unfortunately my dear Nan passed away this Christmas from Duodenal Cancer (Stomach & Bowl). Cancer is one of the largest causes of death in the world and hopefully in time we can find a way to beat it. This is why I’m supporting “Cancer Research UK for Hodgkins Disease” on the 30 of August 2015.”
Michael Bones
“My Nan, Eileen Ruth Bones was unfortunately diagnosed with Dementia 6 years ago and passed away after catching pneumonia. This charity is important to me as its main focus is dementia when trying to raise money. My late nan suffered from this this uncomfortable and distressing decease and was unable to care for herself for the last 4 years of her life and unfortunately passed away January this year. If it wasn’t for the network of support from the carers and dementia service provided, our family would have found it very difficult to cope with. If it wasn’t for the support that was provided my Nan would not been able to carry on fighting throughout her 6 year struggle. This is why I think this charity, Tapestry, is the perfect service for me to support with your help and people like you to support so we can increase the strength of their services in memory of suffers like my Nan and their families”
All Money raised on here will be going towards Tabestry Care
