Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
My cousins son, William, has Tuberous Sclerosis Complex (TSC) which causes complex epilepsy, severe learning difficulties, autism and challenging behaviour. William was really struggling with the daily transitions to his local special school and becoming increasingly distressed and unhappy.
He moved to St Elizabeth's School four years ago and settled well. He is much calmer and happier now and balances the week at school with weekends and school holidays at home with his parents and little sister in Suffolk. He has so many more opportunities at St Elizabeth's and has loved taking part in theatre productions with local schools, he rides his adapted trike around the grounds and has friends he socialises with now.
He still needs 24/7 care but the nursing team, school, care staff and therapists liaise with his parents and care for William so well. He has been encouraged to be as independent as possible and loves small responsibilities. St Elizabeth's took huge pressure off his family who were reaching crisis point. His mum has Multiple Sclerosis and his younger sister was often the target of his challenging behaviours.
I am happy to be running the London Marathon for William as I know how much St Elizabeth's has improved his and our whole families lives.
