Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
In September of last year a good friend of mine, Tom Ground, suggested that we should cycle from London to Cannes as part of a charity event. I pointed out that, while I do own a bike, it was some considerable distance and I was too young for a genuine mid life crisis but nevertheless agreed to join him..
When we then discovered that is was 1,700km in 5 days we reassessed the situation and agreed on a more manageable 600km route from Geneva following the route of the Rhone Valley to its mouth at Port St Louis on the Mediterranean coast.
We have managed to recruit four others to the trip and, after extensive training in the cafe at Richmond Park, set off for Geneva on Friday 11th May.
While we are doing the trip for fun, we are keen to take he opportunity to raise some money for a good cause. Andrew, Tom's brother and fellow cyclist, recommended The Access Project. Alex Kelly, who started the charity, has done a fantastic job in helping bright children from disadvantaged backgrounds get into top universities and we are keen to help him build on his success to date.
