We protect the heritage of Ironbridge Gorge to educate and inspire future generations

Story

'To experience is to understand' has long been the philosophy that underpins our attitude towards education. The Ironbridge Gorge Museums Trust welcomes learners of all ages, from pre-school groups, through primary and secondary students, to academics, families and retired people.

Whilst emphasising the fun aspect of learning, our school visits offer learning experiences closely linked to the National Curriculum. This is why Ironbridge is so well liked by teachers and educational professionals and is reflected in our 4 Sandford Heritage Education Awards.

The Ironbridge Gorge Museums also offer a variety of experiences for families including hands on experiences in ceramics, tile-decorating, brick-making, candle dipping, laser cutting and 3D printing.

Special events throughout the year, such as the Story Telling Project, STEM Day and Dementia Awareness Day provide additional opportunities for families to come together for unique learning experiences.

Please help us continue this important work!
