We fund medical research to work towards a cure for DIPG

Story

Please help me help this amazing charity which works tirelessly to find a cure for Brain Cancer... notably the worst form of brain cancer-DIPG, which is a horrific, inoperable, incurable form of brain cancer affecting children (Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma).

My friend lost her 2.5 year old daughter Lyla to this chilling disease and she now runs this Foundation in Lyla's name to try and prevent this disease from destroying children's lives (and their families) so violently, and to try and improve the prognosis for these children and

eventually find a cure.

Please help this cause.

  • Every day, nine children in the U.S. are diagnosed with a brain tumour (these statistics are for the US, globally it is far more).
  • Brain tumours are the leading cause of cancer death from childhood cancer, accounting for about 24 percent of cancer-related deaths in children.
  • There are more than 120 different types of brain tumours, making effective treatment very complicated.
  • Childhood brain cancer research is massively underfunded.
  • The cure rate for most brain cancers is significantly lower than that for many other types of cancer.

About the charity

On August 13 2011, two year old Lyla Nsouli was diagnosed with a terrible form of brain cancer called Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma (DIPG). She passed away only 5 months later. Lyla's family set up this foundation in her honour to fund research into treatment and, eventually, a cure for DIPG.
