Some final cheques etc that I need to bank and add to justgiving; and Gary King needs to do the same but we are definitely over the target, plus gift aid on top! Really really pleased and a massive thank you to everyone that has donated and supported us! My legs are almost back to normal now! Sports massage first thing this morning and swimming helped massively today. Now, what to do next..... ;o)

Well, we did it! The toughest marathon in the UK completed! :o). Steve did 3:59, Gary 4:37 and myself 4:59! The sense of achievement and relief is unreal! No words can describe the course, the most difficult thing I've ever done and quite emotional to cross the finish line. The Welsh people cheering us on were superb and standing in places you would not expect. Thanks so much for all of your support and donations in memory of my little boy Ewan, I'm speechless and overwhelmed for once. Only one more thing to do, I've not had a pint for over six months.......... :o) BTW - still time to donate! ;o)

Cold but clear morning in Snowdonia. About 2 hours until the start, and starting to feel pretty nervous now!

Massage done, did it hurt?, oh yes! Swim done! Pasta made by my lovely wife done! Packed my bag, done! Now enjoying a cup of earl grey and some homemade peanut butter and chocolate cakes! Not long now until the main event :o)

This time tomorrow I will be in Wales having collected my race pack and number and will probably be driving around the course to see what it has in store for us! Not sure if it would be better to know just how steep the hills are or if I should leave it as a surprise!!??

Well the donations are off the mark now despite me leaving it so late in the day! Thanks all so far, really appreciate your support!

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

On 18th March 2011 my wife Natalie gave birth to our special little boy Ewan. Sadly he was born with a rare condition that was later diagnosed as being APERT syndrome; a rare condition that I had never heard of before. You can read more about APERT syndrome here http://alturl.com/fnben

In memory of Ewan, I decided to take part in a challenge, and as challenges are supposed to be challenging, I decided to run the Snowdonia Marathon (reported to be 'the toughest marathon in the UK'). http://alturl.com/o6g7q To add to the challenge this will also be my first marathon!

I'm taking the challenge seriously having stopped smoking a year ago and devoting as much of my spare time to time to training as possible. I've been running since January this year and lost over 2 stone in weight too.

It is your donations that will keep me going through all 26 miles, 385 yards! Completion is the objective of this challenge, but under the marathon rules for Snowdonia, I must be past the 18 mile marker in under 4 hours.

Also running will be my brother-in-law Gary King (it will also be his first marathon too) and my good friend Steve Cox (a veteran when it comes to marathon running!).

So please dig deep and donate now, every penny counts.
