Story
This is James and his Dad, Martin James Curtis.
On 21 April 2016, James lost the most important man in his life to pancreatic cancer just 6 weeks after diagnosis. His funeral was held on 3rd May 2016. Just one day before what would have been Martins 40th birthday.
James is the bravest 11 year old boy i know and i am proud to call him my Son.
As it's breast awareness month and Team Verrico fund a lot of research for triple negative breast cancer, we have teamed up with Claireabella designs who have very generously donated a goodie bag worth over £150. All you need to do is donate £2 per strip of tickets to be in with a chance of winning.
Don't forget to leave your full contact details and quote Claireabella so not only can we allocate you your raffle tickets, but also so we can contact you if you're our lucky winner.
The winning ticket will be drawn on Sunday 6th November 2016. Good luck xx
On the 28th August 2016, James Akrill-Curtis, our close friends and i complete the Yorkshire 3 peaks challenge to raise money for Team Verrico. On top of this we completed the Cleethorpes and Hull 5k colour runs, Pretty Muddy run in Harrogate, Anna Verrico half marathon in Epworth as part of a relay team and have baked tons of cakes and rattled a fair few charity tins! All in aid of cancer charityTeam Verrico!
2017 brings the national 3 peaks, plans to walk the great wall of China and I've applied to run the London marathon for Pancreatic Action charity so will be sharing my fundraising next year. I'm still waiting to hear if I've got a place but if not then I will run elsewhere for the same charity.
Team Verrico is a charity I was put in touch with through a local roller derby team. Team Verrico are currently supporting James through this difficult time by providing him with free, ongoing counselling support for as long as he needs it. You wouldn't get that from a GP! Team Verrico's aim is to fund research and assist people afflicted by cancer http://www.teamverrico.org/
Please help us pay back the support TeamVerrico are giving to James and others by making a donation of any amount to my Just Giving page or by sending a text to :70070. Please include the following code in your text: HKRH47 along with the amount you wish to donate.
I also lost my Grandma to cancer on 7th June 2016 just to add to my hate for this evil, nasty disease.
Give cancer the middle finger!
