Story
Hello everyone,
For those of you who don't know, I am a scholar on the Amos Bursary programme. The Amos Bursary is a charity that was started by Colleen Amos and Baroness Valerie Amos to support young African Caribbean males to reach our full potential.
Students come from London Boroughs with high levels of social disadvantage (75% of Britains black and minority ethnic community lives in 88% of the poorest areas). The Amos Bursary works alongside volunteers and supporters to deliver personal and professional programmes that help us achieve successful performance at university, and enhance our ability to thrive in a competitive world.
We get a profound level of support through our university experience, and get access to life experiences and learning opportunities required for our chosen careers. We have numerous development sessions to equip us with the skills that are essential in life and each scholar receives a personal and professional mentor to guide us.
The Amos Bursary is very important to me because they changed my life and believed in me when I was on the verge of the point of no return. I have received this exquisite opportunity from the Amos Bursary to get professional experience in New York for the summer 2015. As most of you know, I am very ambitious and need this opportunity to bring me one step closer to my dream. Please kindly support me ladies and gentlemen to make this happen. Any donation is deeply appreciated. God bless you all.
