In May 2004 we lost our very precious second daughter Rebecca. It has been almost 8 years now and although it may seem a long time ago to some, it often feels like yesterday to us. The pain never really goes away, you just find a way to live with it in order to carry on with day to day life. We have our memories in photos, hand & footprints, sympathy cards etc, but they are not the kind of things which are easy to bring out and share with family and friends over a cup of tea, especially now after such time has passed. We feel very blessed to have 3 other beautiful children, Hannah, Katie and James who certainly like to help us to keep Rebecca's memory alive.

The Joseph Salmon Trust is a local charity run by dear friends of ours, Neil and Rachael who lost their son Joseph in 2005. This year, 2012, I am dedicating A YEAR OF RUNNING in memory of our daughter Rebecca and to raise money for The Joseph Salmon Trust. The charity provides financial help to families who have lost a child. Check out their website www.thejosephsalmontrust.org.uk , they are amazing and have helped around 55 families in the last few years !

So , what am I going to do? I am running from HUDDERSFIELD TO ROME (around 1300 miles) over 12 months (although sadly I will not officially end up in Rome!! I aim to train around 25 miles a week and I will be doing an average of one official race each month. These races include the Jane Tomlinson 10k's, Bupa Manchester 10k, Leeds Half Marathon, Great British London 10k, Bupa Great North Newcastle Half Marathon, Bridlington half Marathon and many more. So please dig deep, tell all your friends and family, and help me to support this wonderful charity. My fundraising will be ongoing and this page will remain open until I reach Rome !
