Blythswood Care is a charity very close to my heart. Many of you will have heard of the charity through its Shoebox Appeal that they run each Christmas. Blythswood delivered more than 115,000 Shoeboxes during Christmas 2015, with children and elderly people benefitting in poverty stricken countries such as Albania, Moldova, Romania, Serbia and Ukraine. 

It isn't just a once-a-year charity though!! I have been fortunate to visit two of the countries listed above on charity trips, visiting Moldova with Blythswood in 2012. At that time, we visited an orphanage in the south of the country, running a week-long camp for the boys and girls. PLEASE take a look at the few pictures I have uploaded. Abject poverty does not even come close... These kids had nothing. Blythswood worked alongside partner churches and organisations to provide funding for teachers, training and work placements for youngsters (once they had graduated from school). Any money that you can donate goes to projects just like this one, making a HUGE difference to children's lives in Jesus' name. 

So keeping it in perspective, jumping out of a plane doesn't seem that much of a leap of faith! But that is what I would like to do in order to make a difference to the lives of people.
