Story
Hello, whoever is reading this! This is Joeley Gibson here,I'm 12 years old and have decided to fundraise for the London Childrens Ballet, as you can see my target to raise is £500.I am part of the charity this year (no I do not work there!)and would love if you could sponsor!
'London Children’s Ballet (LCB) was founded in 1994 to give talented young dancers age 9-14 (boys 9-16) a unique opportunity to perform as part of a professional ballet production.'Each year our choreographer as well as others cast around 55-60 talented young dancers, irresepective of their shape, size, background or financial situation. to give them an experience you won't get anywhere else, but unlike other companies instead of having to pay LCB is absolutely free.Everything! The costumes, theatre, rehearsals cost nothing. But obviously it is hard to fund a company running wothout any dosh! So I am starting the challenge to fundraise so that LCB can continue it's incredible work.
LCB doesn't just do the mainstream company,we also have LCB2 for dancers who don't get into the main company, this group of children tour in hospitals, retirement homes etc.To bring the ballet to those who can't come to it.There are also summer schools, workshops in schools and specialist Boys for Ballet classes taught by renowned professionals. All free.During the performances for the main company Ballet for a £1 takes place for schools as well as performances for elderly or disabled,
I first did LCB when I was 10 and absolutely loved it,I can honestly say everybody was friendly and the experience was magical.I have been lucky enough to continue performing with the company up until now and would be so grateful for your support! This year We are performing 'Nanny Mcphee' ( with permission from Emma Thompson!) at the Peacock Theatre from the 24th -28th April, the first ever ballet version of the well-loved movie!
If you could give anything,as much or as little as you like I would be overjoyed,Everything adds up!
Thanks for reading!
Joeley Gibson :)
