Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. Many of you will know that our gorgeous daughter, sister, fiancée, friend and colleague, Jess, was taken ill very suddenly in October 2014 with aggressive bowel cancer. She passed away at the beginning of September 2015. She was so fortunate that in the first 27 years of her life she enjoyed vibrant health and so many adventures and international travel. She was known for her love of life, different cultures, friends, family, music, dressing up and especially tasty snacks from international cuisine.
We have chosen a leading disability charity, the Papworth Trust for the personal connection through her fiancé, Tim's dad, Nick Butler, for the work in Wisbech that supports those with disability. When any illness strikes, so much that you take for granted gets wiped out. Jess discovered how just tough it was to get out and about and simply manage the steps at the local tube station.
Jess was delighted that Nick had organised a visit to Harry Potter world for his clients at the Papworth Trust this summer, thanks to some extra funding, and it is our wish that more of these trips and treats can be made possible in memory of Jess. While we will also support the larger and wonderful cancer charities that were so valuable, the personal connection with lesser known organisations is also important.
