EVAN WOLF PAGE

Here's some of the background that led to us holding Evanfest.
In November 2012 myself and my friends lost a dear friend  who had BIPOLAR DISORDER. It was completely unexpected. I had known him for over 20 years and he was only 39 when he died.
A few of us put on a singers night to help raise money for one of his best friends to come down from Shetland for his funeral. We raised a lot more than we expected to, so gave the remaining money to Evans mum to be put towards his funeral (or whatever she chose to do with it).
About a month before his death, Evan phoned me and asked me to put on a gig to raise awareness for Bipolar Disorder as he had come to all of my previous gigs for various charities over the years and knew I would support him as much as he had supported me over the years. I agreed and we were all set to start making arrangements. Then came the news of his death, which was devastating.
After Evans funeral, myself, Peter Knight and Lynda Lamb and a few of his other friends decided to go ahead with the gig but decided to take it to a bigger venue and advertise. So we approached Andy Mac at the Ship and Giggles in Preston and he agreed we could hold it there. The event was a huge success, with 65 artists performing over two stages in twelve hours. We decided to hold another this year. There will be a world record attempt by Frank Willis. He currently holds the record for breaking the most concrete slabs with his hand. Here's the link https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sMy3dOTqSGI You'll also see on the event page that we already have a lot of bands and arists lined up. One of the people who organises the event with me and provides all the sound/stage equiptment and instruments wrote a song for Evan, it is on itunes and all proceeds go to bipolaruk. He, along with other local musicians will be playing a live version of the song on the day. Here is the link https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HqF4e1KC2xo Everyone plays for free and we all put our time in for nothing as well.
Last year we sent you a cheque for £1000.00, this year we are hoping to raise a lot more as the event will be much bigger.
This is the link for this years Evanfest https://www.facebook.com/events/501743136582383/ it will be constantly updated until the day. Please feel free to share this *just giving* page and any other links on this page.
Many thanks.
Kate Jones.
