Story
Our lads. We miss you every day and want to make you as proud of us as we are of you.
On Sunday 11th May 2014, one of the most horrendous days of our lives. Our lads headed off to kayak, just like they had done every other Sunday before. Kissing them goodbye that morning we had no idea that it would be very the last time. When they did not return home that evening our hearts were broken and our worlds were turned upside down, forever. They were all taken from us in the most tragic freak accident. Three decent, hardworking, dearly loved family lads.
We have decided that to continue with the lads hobbies and interests, amongst other charity events, with the support of some amazing family and friends, so as to honour the lads memory and also try to collect as many donations and sponsors for Tynemouth Volunteer Life Brigade along the way
We would like to thank all of the services involved in the search but Tynemouth Volunteer Life Brigade are the only service involved that are able to accept charitable donations. After meeting up them within the weeks that followed the tragedy I was so overwhelmed and grateful for the efforts but also for the work they do in general, that I was unaware of prior. Being a charity, the Brigade relies completely on donations and fundraising events to survive and to maintain and purchase equipment used by the callout team. All Brigade members give their time free and have regular, full-time day jobs to pay the bills and that fill in time in-between call outs. Please look at their website to see the incredible work that they are involved in and find out more about them http://www.tvlb.org/
