Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Mike Hodgson tragically died in August 2015 after suffering a sudden cardiac arrest whilst out cycling near his home in the Lake District.

Mike was co-founder of the Collective Dairy - the gourmet yogurt company who have supplied Ocado since they first launched.

In his memory his family and The Collective have joined forces with the charity " The Community Heartbeat Trust " to raise money to bring retired red telephone boxes back to life by placing life-saving defibrillators in them.

I will be joining them on the last leg of a 350 mile , 5 day cycle from his home in Keswick to Collective HQ in Acton.

I would really appreciate your support , no matter how large or small. Any money I raise , up to £500 , will be matched by the Ocado Foundation.

As an incentive to support me , I have attached some photos of me on or near a bike as well as doing the things I'm best at ! It's clear I'm neither photogenic or Jason Kenny's older brother but they will make you laugh as you donate !!!!!

Many thanks for your support.

Kev

About the charity

The Community Heartbeat Trust helps communities undertake defibrillator projects taking into account the needs for the right equipment, the right support, the right adherence to liabilities and governance, community awareness and training programmes, and help with the fund raising and long term support for these projects. As the leading community defibrillator charity in the UK, we have become recognised by ambulance services, councils, community groups and sports governing bodies as the 'gold standard', having set many of the standards now being adopted by other organisations. We live, breath and are hugely passionate about community defibrillation in all its forms, and seek always to offer a holistic and objective advice to communities. We believe a defibrillator is for LIFE and not just for Christmas, and these medical devices should be available to save lives. But they are just that, a medical device, and must be treated with respect. A good project is not about just a defibrillator in the community, but one that forms part of a resilient process, addressing needs, and fully backed by Governance. www.communityheartbeat.org.uk
