Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I - and some equally mad friends - will be cycling from Pudsey (in the north of England) to Nice (in the south of France) in May 2013. It's a journey of about 1,200 miles and climbing 40,000 feet throughout - Mount Everest is only 29,000 feet tall. None of us are endurance cyclists - right now I cycle about 30 miles a week - and this really is something that might actually kill the lot of us :)
We're self-funding the trip - none of this "get £5,000 in sponsorship and we'll spend thousands of that on paying for your to do it" nonsense. Every penny you donate goes directly to the charity, and the costs of the trip are borne by us.
I've picked Fair Trials International as the charity I'm riding on behalf of. I'm hardly a left-leaning socialist, as those who know me will realise - but I do believe everyone has the right to a fair trial, wherever it might be. Fair Trials International work towards a world where every person’s right to a fair trial is respected, whatever their nationality, wherever they are accused.
What's more, they're tiny, with annual revenues of less than £250,000 (to put that into context, that's roughly the same amount Ryan Giggs paid in legal fees to get his injunction) so every penny makes a big difference. You can read more about FTI here: http://www.fairtrials.net/
So please dig deep and donate now.
