Story
We would like to thank you for checking in on our Just Giving page. We are two brothers from Glasgow who donated our Kidney's to complete strangers. When we done this we gave two people in the UK the most precious gift - The Gift Of Life. We are the first siblings in the UK to donate organs to strangers. We were also nominated for the Daily Record 'Our Heroes' awards and starred in Transplant Tales on BBC1 which was shown UK wide and helped raise awareness. Check out our website www.kidneyheroes.co.uk or follow us on twitter @kidneyheroes
In 2014 we raised over £15,000 for our chosen charity 'Give A Kidney'. They are such a small charity who do amazing work all over the UK to raise awareness for future Altruistic Kidney Donors. The are made up of many trustees who have all donated their kidneys to strangers and most work or have worked within the National Health Service. In 2014 the amount we raised was nearly half of their total income for the year. This shows how important it is for such a small charity to receive funds.
It was our aim to raise more funds for Give A Kidney in 2015 but due to complications with Pauls surgery and having to go back into hospital fundraising was put on hold. We would love to beat the amount we raised in 2014 so by the end of 2016 we hope to raise over £20,000. This will only be possible with the help of many generous people. If you would like to get us that little bit closer please give anything you can.
We will be taking part and holding different charity events throughout the year which I hope as many people as possible support.
Helping others is such an amazing thing and the feeling you get when you know your making a difference is fantastic. Donating our kidneys is the best thing we have ever done in our life.
Thank You,
Kenneth & Paul
