Julien and David's Leg Waxing, 30 March 2017

Story

David and I were trying to think of a tough, character-building test of our strength to support the school charity this year. Both of us are now 18 and becoming grown men. So we decided that the ultimate test of our manliness, the most painful and excruciating trial we could endure, would be to have our hairy legs waxed. The line between brave and foolish is narrow, and we have been warned of terrible emotional and physical suffering, but as Actress Jane Fonda may or may not have said:  "No leg pain, no gain for Children in Crisis".

Please support us generously in our leg-endary quest for Children in Crisis, who provide education for less fortunate children in developing countries.

Thank you!

PLEASE DO NOT METION NAMES OF STUDENTS IN YOUR COMMENTS.  THANK YOU!

We are raising funds for the City of London School appeal for “Children in Crisis”, a charity which provides education for children who would not otherwise attend school in Afghanistan, Sierra Leone, Liberia and the DRC. All donations will be collected by the City of London School Charitable Trust and every penny will then be donated to Children in Crisis. For more information about the charity, please visit http://www.childrenincrisis.org/

Children in Crisis’ aim is to help children in post-conflict zones by building schools, helping mums support themselves financially and training teachers. This is really important for areas where they work like Afghanistan and the Democratic Republic of Congo, since education is a way out of poverty for kids in places where there might otherwise be no hope. We think this is a fantastic charity (that’s why our school voted it in!) and a worthwhile cause.

About the charity

Every year, City of London School raises money for a different charity voted for by the students. In 2016, we are supporting Centrepoint which supports more than 9,000 homeless 16-25 year olds a year into a home and a job. They aim to give homeless young people a future and end youth homelessness.
