Story
Throughout 2012, I will be tackling 10 extreme endurance challenges in the UK and Europe in the hope of raising awareness of, and funds for, an exceptional Charity supporting wounded servicemen and women - Walking with the Wounded. More information can be found below, or by visiting www.limitless2012.com. If you’d like to join me on any of the events, please do get in touch, whether you do 1 or 10, I’d be delighted to have you along.
Many thanks
Richard Allinson

The Charity
Walking with the Wounded is dedicated to supporting a range of initiatives involved in the recovery and re-training of servicemen and women who have been forced to adjust to life with serious injuries sustained whilst serving our country. In 2011, to raise awareness and much needed funds for this hugely worthwhile cause, the charity led an expedition to the North Pole, in a team which included 4 wounded service personnel. In 2012, they aim to send a team to the summit of Everest. More information can be found at www.walkingwiththewounded.org.uk
The Challenge
Over the course of 2012, I will complete 10 of the most challenging endurance events in Europe. Individually, these challenges push both physical and mental strength to the limit. To complete all 10 events in the space of a year, with minimal recovery time, and with no previous endurance racing experience, is probably pushing the boundaries a little.
The events:
Winter Tough Guy
Barcelona Marathon
Run Hadrian’s Wall (80 miles off-road in 48 hours)
Olympic Distance Triathlon (1.5km swim, 40km cycle, 10km run)
Norfolk Super Hero (1 mile swim, 4 mile kayak, 45 mile cycle, 7 mile run
Iron Man Wales (3.2 mile swim, 120 mile cycle, 26.2 mile run)
3 Peaks Challenge (20 Hours)
Rosedale Rumble Ultra Marathon (40 Miles Off-Road)
John o’Groats to Lands End (874 Miles, 5 days)
River Thames Kayak (120 miles, 48 hours)
Get Involved
We’d love for you to get involved and support the challenge; there are three main ways that you can do so.
Spread the word
Every additional person who knows about the challenge represents one more potential £ on the cheque that we hand over the Walking with the Wounded in December 2012, and a little more awareness of the challenges our wounded service personnel face. Please take 2 minutes to invite your friends to ‘like’ our facebook page www.facebook.com/pages/Limitless-Challenge-2012/314131948609391?skip_nax_wizard=true , send an email round your colleagues with a link to www.limitless2012.com, or tweet about us @limitless_2012. Every person who knows about the challenge moves us closer to our goal.
Make a donation
Every penny of every donation will go straight to Walking with the Wounded. Please keep up to date with our progress, and if you find anything we do over the course of 2012 even slightly impressive, please make a donation via this page. Every penny really does count. We’d also be delighted to receive corporate sponsorship enquiries, so if your organisation might be interested in supporting the challenge, please contact limitlesschallenge2012@gmail.com. Thank you
Join In
It would be great to have as many people as possible involved in each of the challenges. If you’ve spotted something that takes your fancy, please do get in touch via limitlesschallenge2012@gmail.com and request more details. For all of the events, the more the merrier, so please do get in touch and join in the fun, whether you’d like to join 1 event or all 10
