Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I am raising money for the organization Moving Mountains though a society at the University of Leeds called Leeds Rag. A group of 30 students will be travelling to Kenya in June to work alongside Moving Moutains to renovate a secondary school in the community. Of the £2300 raised, £1225 of this goes directly to the charity (Moving Mountains) and £1025 will be used to cover my expenses for climbing the mountain. This is a fifteen day trip, starting with the first five days visiting the Moving Mountains chairty in Kenya. The remaining 10 days is spent climbing Mount Kilimanjero. As a childhood cancer survivor, climbing the highest peak in Africa will be a huge personal accomplishment. At the age of thirteen, I was diagnosed with Hodgkins Lymphoma and underwent numerous rounds of chemotherapy and radiation for 8 months. I am now in my sixth year of remission. I hope my story of fighting cancer at the age of thirteen yet still being able to climb Mount Kilimanjero a few years later can bring hope and inspiration to others to have faced similar situations.
