Story
Blood transfusions save hundreds of lives each year at the RVC. The RVC runs a non-profit blood donor/transfusion service that currently performs over 450 transfusions each year. However the equipment, which was donated by the NHS is outdated and it's becoming increasingly difficult to replace parts, and repair.
A new centrifuge will cost 25,000 pounds, a new cell saver machine will cost 10,000 pounds.
What appeals to me so much about this cause, is that there is an easy solution to this problem. The veterinary world simply needs more blood to use in critical situations, and the equipment that goes along with this. Blood can make such a huge difference to the outcome of the patient. Please help those furrys when they need it most.
