We raise funds to support the Walton Centre in Liverpool

Story

Last month I was diagnosed with an anaplastic astrocytoma grade III malignant brain tumour. Since then I’ve spent a lot of time frequenting The Walton Centre for various appointments, scans and I also had a stay in one of their wards for a number of nights after my biopsy due to a bleed on my brain.

I’m fortunate enough to live only a short drive away from the hospital and therefore my relatives have been able to stay near while I undergo my treatment. However many patients come from further afield and so I wish to raise some money for Walton's Home from Home Appeal which will help build accommodation for loved ones and new facilities for rehabilitation patients.

As my hair has been recently falling out and thinning due to radiotherapy I've decided to lose my fine curls the day after my treatment has ended. This will happen at The Shipping Forecast on Slater St in Liverpool and will be on Wednesday 27th November which is coincidentally the day of my birthday. I know many of you were planning on getting me all sorts of wonderful gifts but if you could instead just make a donation it would be much appreciated. Donating is quick, simple and secure. Any amount that you can donate - big or small - will be much obliged.

For those wanting to attend the head shaving, it will commence at 4pm but I'll be around from 3pm for those that fancy a chin wag and a few rounds before hand. The plan then is to stick around, maybe order some tasty food and have more drinks.

Many thanks,

Lyam
