Story
Mabbett are delighted to be supporting Glasgow City Mission through participating in the SpinFit Challenge 2014. We are ready and raring to go - to pedal for pounds against poverty!
Mabbett are committed to improving the area in which we live and work. We do this through taking part in different Community Engagement activities throughout the year.
We have built up a special relationship with Glasgow City Mission (GCM) through participating in various initiatives. We have volunteered for food parcelling and home-building...now it's time for a bit of cycling... 20 members of staff, 10 spin bikes for 2 hours - we have accepted the challenge!
Valiant participants so far:
Derek J. McNab, Geraldine Boylan, Claire Doyle, Lee Currie, James Forbes, Jill Cottrell, Carrie Brown, Michael Lynch, Stuart McHendry, Phil Harshaw, Suzie Maclean, Neil Sullivan, Ian Menzies.
By pedalling against poverty, we will be helping to provide practical care to Glasgow’s homeless and vulnerable. The extent of help needed in Scotland and the extent of help given by GCM is remarkable.
The money you give will help GCM:
• reconnect with people on the brink of collapse; to show them there is hope for their future
• provide for immediate needs such as food, toiletries and clothing
• assist in overcoming addictions and help to access specialist support such as housing and living with mental health issues
• work with clients to access training or employment opportunities
GCM doesn’t receive any funding from the Government, but is solely funded through donations (and serves thousands of people a year). As Mabbett continues to partner with GCM to help our local community and give something back, please help us raise as much money as possible for this extraordinary work that's developing lives and our city.
