Story

Thank you for visiting our Just Giving page.  We at Mahirs will be raising money for our chosen Charity of the year....Ladies Fighting Breast Cancer.

Here are a few things we have in the pipeline for 2014....Race for life, Birmingham Half Marathon, Monthly Dress Down Day, Charity dinners, Donating our food tasting fees.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate.

A little about the charity we have chosen:

Set up in 2000, Ladies Fighting Breast Cancer is the UK's only regional charity for Breast Cancer. Run by a team of volunteers, led by Veronica Kumeta (West Midlands Most Inspirational Woman of the Year 2013), the charity raises money for the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham, benefiting people within a 70-mile radius of the hospital.

Having already raised over £1 million for equipment and created a 'centre of excellence', Ladies Fighting Breast Cancer has launched a new £1 Million Appeal to raise funds for services that go beyond the means of the NHS. When the Breast Unit moves to a new location within the hospital campus in 2015, Ladies Fighting Breast Cancer will fund a new patients' lounge, diagnostic suite, not-for-profit hair salon, beauty treatments and mastectomy room.

They have already achieved their first £250k and a new mobile mammogram unit has been ordered but they still have another £750k to go - to help fund the above - and Mahirs is helping them to achieve this. Please donate to this fantastic cause.
