In 1966 I first visited my relatives in Manchester with my Father and Mother in our very old black Ford Popular car. Ever since then, I have always said that one day I would cycle there. Yvonne was always aware of this and, now seems an appropriate time to do it as it’s the 50th anniversary of my first visit and also in memory of her. 

My good friend, Colin Rands and I will set off on Thursday August 4th, hoping to arrive at my cousins house in Timperley, Manchester at midday on Saturday August 6th. 

With this ride, we would like to raise some funds for the St Nicholas Hospice whose staff and carers were excellent in their care for Yvonne in her last days after a four year battle against, firstly Bowel Cancer and then Liver Cancer. Also for their genuine concern for myself and family at this time.
