In a moment of weakness I agreed to join a group of very serious cyclists, who are cycling over the Picos de Europa in northern Spain in late June, as a personal challenge. As you all know, this will be an enormous challenge for me as I would not describe myself as being a natural athlete! Over three days we will be cycling 370km and climbing 8,700 meters, the equivalent of Mount Everest!

To give me an incentive to finish this gruelling event, I have decided to support the work of The Smiling World Foundation, a charity set up to save lives through improved oral health in Sierra Leone. The Smiling World Foundation travel all across Sierra Leone, reaching schools, orphanages and communities treating oral disease, paying particular attention to those in isolated parts of the country.
