Story
In total, the Marmotte is 108 miles in one day and features four famous Tour de France Alpine mountain climbs: the Glandon, the Telegraphe, the Galibier, and Alpe d'Huez.
Previously I've cycled from John O'Groats to Lands End, and finished the Bristol to Bath marathon but I think this is my biggest challenge so far. Although I don't always believe Wikipedia, it claims that the Marmotte is "considered to be one of the hardest of any cyclosportive" which may or may not be true but it certainly demonstrates that just completing it is something of which to be proud.
If I can raise a fiver for each mile I cycle it will help support Mentoring Plus continue to do their fantastic work of providing mentors to young people who most need it. I truly believe they are an example of "Think Global, Act Local" as ultimately they encourage local communities to support themselves, which generates self respect and provides a sustainable model for a brighter future.
