Story
As you may or may not be aware, my youngest son, Archie who is 2 1/2 has been a regular in-patient of the Kingfisher children's ward at Dorset County Hospital. He suffers from an as yet, undiagnosed chronic lung condition which means he has been admitted, on average, once a month for the last 2 years. While in hospital he requires oxygen treatment, nebulisers, inhalers and has had numerous courses of steroids and antibiotics.
We all feel the strain when Archie is poorly not least of all him. But the doctors, nursing staff, HCAs and play room ladies on the Kingfisher ward are always so welcoming, helpful, caring and cheerful they make the whole experience so much more bearable!
So, with the children's ward and the wonderful people that make it what it is in mind, I have entered my self into the unknown! To try to give something back but having not exercised properly for some 15 years or so....I am taking on the challenge of a triathlon. 750m sea swim, 45km cycle ride and 10km run. Its a huge undertaking but one I feel I can conquer with the support of my friends and family! (YOU!!)
Thank you for reading my blurb! Now if you can, please donate what you can to this most worthy of causes!
