Story
On the 3rd August this year, myself and a team of volunteers are taking up the challenge of cycling 140 miles, coast to coast, from Whitehaven, Cumbria to Tynemouth, North Tyneside. We aim to do this in less than 3 days stopping off at Penrith and Rookhope along the way.
We are taking on this challenge to raise money for the Ocean Youth Trust North, a charity specialising in the personal development of young people. Through the unique medium of ocean sailing aboard the vessel James Cook, OYT North provide an experience that both changes lives and inspires futures. They help young people, irrespective of their background, escape difficulties the face at home and build a whole range of life skills whilst working as part of a team and rising to the challenge of the sea.
On a personal level, being a part of the James Cook team has meant a great deal to me. By taking on this challenge all of us in the team hope to raise enough money so as to ensure that even more deserving young people can continue to sail aboard James Cook in future years.
So please dig deep and get behind us! Your support will be greatly appreciated by not only by me and the rest of the team but by every one of the young people whose lives it will go towards transforming.
Thank You!
