Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

In 2013 following a number of years playing competitive football, I was diagnosed with a minor jaw disorder called Temporomandibular joint dysfunction & referred to one of the top head & neck surgeons in the UK, Luke Cascarini.

During the consultation Luke informed me that he was about to participate in his first White Collar Boxing event for charity. As a huge boxing fan we immediately connected & resulted in me going to watch him compete & win!

2 years later & having stayed in contact during that period, Luke asked if I'd be interested in being a trustee of a charity that he was extremely passionate about setting up, The Head & Neck Cancer Foundation (HNCF).

12 months ago I organised a charity boxing event with the original aim of raising £25k; with ticket sales, sponsorship and a live and silent auction I somehow managed to raise over £100k in a single evening and am now aiming to do the same on November 16th as I chase an ultimate target of £500k.

In order to achieve this goal, 12 friends from the media industry have very kindly agreed to sign up to an extremely grueling training schedule that has seen us collectively lose over 150kg's between us!

Stuart Flint, Steve Brown, Rupert Turnbull, Paul Maloney, Lee Cutter, Chris Grey, Wayne Mensah, Sam Maloney, Nicky Territt, Mark Burborough & Remy Kirk make up this year's HNCF Boxing Team - I can't thank you all enough as I know exactly what you're putting yourselves through!

We would really appreciate any support that you can give & even the smallest of donation will make a huge difference. As a bit of background, iHNCF is able to raise £500k (another £75k of which we hope to raise at this boxing event), then national bodies within the UK will contribute the remaining required budget to run a £2m nationwide trial which will completely revolutionise the management of mouth cancer in the UK and set the pace for Europe and America.
