Story
On 29 May I will be taking part in the Folketone 10k run to support Green Kordofan, a Folkestone based organisation that champions sport for development to support the people of South Kordofan, who have been forced to flee the civil war in Sudan.
Since June 2011 renewed violence in Sudan created hundreds of thousands displaced people and refugees from the Nuba Mountains. Over 70,000 of them took refuge in Yida, South Sudan. The vast majority of people now living in refugee camps in Yida are children.
Green Kordofan was set up to bring sport to the young people in refugee camps in Yida. Sport can bring a culture of peace and teamwork as well as boosting self-esteem in young people.
If anyone would like to sponsor me for taking part in this run it would be much appreciated.
