Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Mick Kelly was a wonderful warm-hearted, loving, generous and easy-going man. In February 2011 he found that he had renal cell carcinoma, otherwise known as Kidney Cancer. For 15 months he courageously struggled with the cancer, until he died peacefully in his sleep on Sunday 22 April at 5.43am. If Mick had found his cancer earlier he would have had a much higher chance of fighting the cancer and keeping it at bay. However, kidney cancer is extremely difficult to detect before it has already developed into a secondary cancer.
In Mick’s name we are raising money for a charity called Ucare (http://www.ucare-oxford.org.uk). They are based in oxford and are committed to improving the treatment and care of cancer patients through research and education. Their research is largely based on early detection, which is absolutely essential. So please dig deep and donate now.
