Dear supporters, We made it!!! Over 1,000 miles, lots of hills and wet weather camping, but we made it... Thank you again for your support for a really worthwhile charity - I wouldn't have made it up the hills without you. Now just ridden the last 17 miles from John o' Groats to Wick and we are waiting to hop on the train to Inverness, then the long drive home via Hexham to pick Mel up... Can't wait to get back! See you all soon. James
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
At the start of 2012 MIke and I decided that we would take on the challenge of cycling the length of the country, fully unsupported carrying all our own camping equipment and a lot of pork pies! Lands End to John O’Groats will take around 2 weeks and about 60,000 calories each.
I am looking to raise £1,500 for a really worthwhile children’s charity, Nelson's Journey. This equates is just over £1 per mile and I hope will be enough to motivate me on those long hill climbs.
Nelson’s Journey is based in Norfolk, my home county. It supports over 200 children each year who face a significant bereavement such as the death of a parent. It is run by a dedicated and well-trained team. We know that these children cannot go anywhere else for this help and the positive impact that this charity has is amazing. The charity exists entirely from voluntary donations, so this appeal should make a real difference.
