Story
What's she up to this time???
Well, as some of you already know, it started in 2013 with The Kiltwalk. In 2014 I completed the Edinburgh Marathon. In 2015, I completed the Aberfeldy Middle Distance Triathlon.
So what's next? Well... I was given (and took) the opportunity to support Lymfund again this year and tackle my dream of taking part in the London Marathon. It's been on my "Before I'm 30" list and I'll tick it off WITH A WEEK TO SPARE! Not satisfied with a Marathon as a challenge on it's own, I will be taking part in Etape Caledonia two weeks later. An 81 mile bike race in highland Perthshire. On tired marathon legs!!
Why am I supporting Lymfund again? Well, it is a charity close to my heart. It's also not very well known. Lymphedema is becoming more widely understood, but treatment is expensive and often ignored by healthcare professionals. IT IS OUT THERE. And there is a charity set up to help people who need to pay for treatment and find that they struggle to afford it.
When you've just survived cancer, and you're knocked down by a seemingly incurable and often misdiagnosed condition, the last thing you need is to be left feeling alone. MLDuk work with therapists all over the UK to help treat the condition. My mummy is a cancer survivor and now a therapist!!!
My aim is to raise awareness and cash to help them help Lymphedema and Lipoedema patients who may otherwise have had to go on without treatment.
Thank you, as always, for your support.
