Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

My mission is to raise £100,000 collectively for three very worthy charities, while overcoming a personal mission to succeed where no sole rower has before.

This particular charity,  Fisherman's Mission; is particularly close to my heart - having been in the navy and been a fisherman all my life.  The royal national mission for deep sea fisherman fights poverty and despair in fishing communities by providing emergency and welfare support to fishermen and their families 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. Funds are always needed and much appreciated, with many of whom I know and have worked have turned to the Mission, whom I will always support. You too can make a difference by donating today and help make a positive impact on many lives.

From now until August (2012), I am starting a strict training regime, dedicating my time, health and sanity in what will be THE ultimate physical challenge of my life. All in order to raise much needed funds for some exceptional charities close to my, and many others, hearts.

More known for causes to the North-East fishing industry, I relish a challenge and this is certainly one. I am looking forward to embracing the North Sea once again but this time not in a high tech fishing boat but a one man rowing boat!

Thanks for your time,  I welcome any support you can provide, please donate what you can.

The Fishermen's Mission is the only national charity that works solely to support active and retired fishermen and their families by providing practical, financial and pastoral support. Fishing is dangerous and unpredictable. Hardship and tragedy are facts of everyday life in the UK’s fishing
