The Catalyst Youth Centre Update 2016
Thank you to everybody who has donated towards our sponsor a brick campaign to help pay for the refurbishment and running of our new Catalyst Youth Centre. We are incredibly grateful to everyone who has their time and money so far.
In 2015 you helped N-Gage to raise over £13,000 in sponsorship money to update and refurbish the old BMAG youth centre on Burnage Lane in Burnage.
Using the money you donated in sponsorship we spent nine months completely updating the interior of the building to make it a welcoming young people friendly environment. Walls were knocked down to remodel rooms, the whole of the building inside and out was redecorated, the building has been given new flooring through out. We have created a top of the range music room fully kitted out to play and record music. There is a large designated arts and crafts room, a fully equipped computer suite. In the main hall there is space for young people to play table football, pool or table tennis, there is a PS4 and Xbox One. We have also installed a projector screen and PA system. If the young people are looking for a little bit of peace and quiet there is also a chill out room.
On Saturday 14th May 2016 we were delighted to have the youth centre officially opened by the Deputy Lord Mayor of Manchester Carl Austin-Behan. It was wonderful to see so many people having a great time at the launch day and supporting the positive work that N-Gage does with young people.
Please could you help us to reach 100% of our £20,000 target before the end of this year by sponsoring a brick? Raising an additional £7,000 will fund the services that we are going to be running from the youth centre.
Every brick sponsored will go directly towards the running of the Catalyst Youth Centre benefiting the young people and wider community of Burnage.
We couldn't have done this without your sponsorship, so thank you once again. Please consider further donating to the running of the Catalyst Youth Centre by sponsoring a brick.
The N-Gage Team
The Catalyst Youth Centre 2015
In a few weeks’ time an empty youth centre in Burnage will become a new home to N-Gage’s youth work programmes.
We have been working with young people in Burnage for the last three years and we know there is very little on offer in terms of youth services. We are excited to be able to bring our unique offering of programmes to these young people and to invest in the neighbourhood. We believe that the young people in Burnage will benefit hugely from services which will focus on developing solid relationships, positive behaviour and community cohesion as well as assisting them with their social and educational needs.
Before we can move into the building to begin to roll out our youth provision the building needs £20,000 of repairs. We are asking for your help in making this happen by sponsoring a brick to help us build a better future for the young people of Greater Manchester.
