Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my Just Giving page.
My best mate Fi Burns was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis when she was only 27 years old. Every day since I have watched in awe as she fights this terrible condition. Here's what Fi has to say:
'We all remember our birthdays for special reasons, our 18th, 21st....but I will remember my 40th for an extra special reason, as I will have been living with MS for 13 years. When I was first diagnosed, I was put on disease modifying drugs and I was living my life as I wanted. I was working full time, going to the gym and going out with friends. However, in 2014, I was admitted to hospital, where I spent 6 months.
At the moment my MS has progressed to secondary progression MS, which means my walking is non-existent and I have a constant tremor in my hands....taking me out for dinner is an experience!!
I have been going to the MS Therapy Centre Lothian (MSTC) for years and it provides therapies such as 'physiotherapy, hyperbaricoxygen therapy and acupuncture'. It also provides those that have been diagnosed with MS with an essential support network.
I urge all of you to donate to Nic's marathon running to raise money for MSTC as it really does help control my condition and make my life a little better. All we can wish for now is a cure for this horrible incurable condition.'
