Story
During and subsequent to the political turmoil in Zimbabwe, Nyasha Manyau became the person many people, mainly women and children fled to for support, counselling and help. Nyasha has her own story of suffering being orphaned after the assignation of her parents soon after Zimbabwe’s independence. Nyasha established, ‘Bridging the Gap’, to help facilitate personal and communal healing in Zimbabwe post the political violence. Through counselling and community development projects, Nyasha is seeing people and whole communities start to rebuild emotionally and materially following the trauma of political violence. Visit

However, the diagnosis has not yet been determined, and although Nyasha’s breathing has improved slightly, she is still experiencing tremendous pain and is on heavy doses of morphine. Since most of the public halt facilities have collapsed and would not be in the position to treat Nyasha she has been admitted to a private hospital. On admission she was required to put down a $3,000 deposit, and today (Tuesday 22nd) the doctor refused any further treatment until she paid $300 in cash.
If you are able and willing to contribute towards some of Nyasha’s medical costs, that would be greatly appreciated. Target for fundraising at this stage is $3,500.
