Story
Thank you for visiting Osborne Clarke's Bristol office fundraising page. We're raising money for our chosen charity - Jack Banks' Star Tribute Fund, which supports the Children's Cancer Unit at The Bristol Children's Hospital.
OC Bristol's fundraising events have seen individuals taking part in many challenges including the Bristol 10k Run, Dart 10k Swim, 50 mile bike ride and a 24 hour 'One Man and No Dog' Lake District Trek. Other events have included a Pirate Treasure Hunt, Silent Auction, Quiz Night, Band Nights, Shaun in the City events, cake bakes, raffles & dress down days.
Jack died at the age of 9 from a rare form of leukaemia and his mum, who works for Osborne Clarke, set up Jack's Fund in his memory. It's since become an important part of Wallace & Gromit's Grand Appeal, supporting the Children's Cancer Unit at Bristol Children's Hospital where Jack received over 4 years of treatment.
Since the start of Jack's fund in August 2008, it has funded the new playroom & integrated conservatory on the Children's Cancer Unit (£100k), donated £10k towards their kitchen refurb, provided a Jukebox for the playroom (£6k) and continues to provide toys for 'Captain Jack's Treasure Chests', toy boxes set up to help children through scary & unpleasant medical procedures. We are currently raising funds to help towards the £70k cost of refurbishing the 10 isolation rooms for Bone Marrow Transplant patients on the Unit.
Our Bristol-based employees voted to support Jack's Fund as our chosen charity from May 2014 through to April 2016.
