Story
This summer, I'm travelling to Tanzania to climb Africa's highest mountain, Mount. Kilimanjaro. I'm climbing it with my Dad, Shailesh, who grew up in East Africa and has been up twice already, so I know I'm in good hands. Also going up with us will be a highly experienced team of guides and porters who will be helping us along the way. This trip is going to be a huge team effort as it is, but we also need your help to make our journey worthwhile.
Having seen the effects of cancer on members of our family and close friends, we want to donate money to an area of cancer research that we believe will make a difference.
The University of Southampton is leading the UK in immunotherapy research and is recognised for pioneering immune-based approaches and translating laboratory discovery research through clinical trials to new treatments for patients. The University is building on forty years of expertise to establish a world-leading research centre that will fundamentally change the way we treat cancer.
We want to help make the Centre for Cancer Immunology a reality. With our efforts and your generosity, the University of Southampton can change the way we treat cancer, resulting in better treatment outcomes for patients and significant improvements in their quality of life.
We are funding every part of the trip to Kilimanjaro ourselves so as to be able to donate as much money as possible to the Cancer Immunology Campaign. So 100% of what you donate will be going straight to the University of Southampton and into the Campaign for the Centre of Cancer Immunology.
Please help us to reach our £1000 target and support the Cancer Immunology Campaign to make a real impact in the fight against cancer.
