Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
On Sunday 17th April I will be taking on the 26.2 Mile challenge of the Brighton marathon. I will be completing this alongside my very soon to be wife, Lynsey Burkinshaw and good friend and colleague, Jonny Hartley. All three of us will be running at different times and pace but all for the same great cause, RettUK.
RettUK is parent led charity dedicated to support and help the families of people living with Rett syndrome. People with Rett syndrome have profound and multiple physical and learning disabilities and are totally reliant on others for support throughout their lives. RettUK provide professional support services for families, carers and professionals.
My beautiful sister Sarah was diagnosed with Rett syndrome when she was two years old. She had a very happy life with the full time support from my mum and dad and other family who all loved her dearly. She had a cheeky, smiley personality and enjoyed spending time with her family.
My lovely sister Sarah died in November 2014 at the young age of 25 with her family by her side. This has been one of the most difficult times for my family and I, Sarah is missed everyday and this makes the challenge of this marathon, and raising money so important to us.
Lynsey, Jonny and I will be running to raise money for this amazing charity which will contribute to all the families out there, like my own, who need the support and to assist future research for RettUK.
